These cookies are soft and chocolaty. They contain no flour, nuts, or dairy. It’s a nice alternative to peanut butter cookies.
Like most people I LOVE Rice Krispie Treats but I wanted to see if I could kick them up a notch. This recipe is a good way to make the treats a little “fancier”. The mixture of sweet and salty is great too.
I have recently switched to cutting out dairy from my diet and I am on a mission to find sweets that I can enjoy and don’t taste like cardboard. This recipe is not only non-dairy, but it’s vegan and actually delicious! This is a basic vanilla recipe so you can additional ingredients to the batter such as rainbow sprinkles if you like funfetti cupcakes.
A couple years ago we stayed at the Kingsleigh Inn in the Bar Harbour area of Maine. The owners Pamela & Bryan were such gracious hosts and the food they served was AMAZING. These bars were a favorite for me so I had to get the recipe. I’ve adapted it slightly.
I altered this recipe a bit from Real Simple Magazine. It makes a great gift and is super sweet! I packaged the spread up in mason jars with labels along with Shortbread Cutout Cookies.
These are the easiest candy you will ever make! I included these as part of my Christmas cookie gifts to my friends and family and everyone raved about them.
