Salted Chocolate Caramel Spread

I altered this recipe a bit from Real Simple Magazine.  It makes a great gift and is super sweet!  I packaged the spread up in mason jars with labels along with Shortbread Cutout Cookies. If you are packaging this recipe up in mason jars, you will need to sterilize them first. Click Here for instructions.

Ingredients
  • 1cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2cup hot tap water
  • 6cups dulce de leche(don’t both buying this, for an easy recipe Click Here. )
  • 4 1/2cups unsalted roasted almonds
  • 2 1/4cups vegetable oil
  • 6tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2tsp sea salt
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, whisk the cocoa powder with the water until smooth.
  2. In a blender, combine the cocoa mixture, dulce de leche, almonds, oil, vanilla and salt and process on high until blended. This will take a couple minutes to ensure the almonds are fine and the mixture is smooth,
  3. Divide among jars.
